A Regina man accused of murdering two women now faces new charges in an unrelated case.

Police say Clayton Bo Eichler has been charged following an investigation into a violent sexual assault against a woman, who was 24 at the time.

In June 2012, the woman got into a vehicle driven by a man, who took her to the back of a property in the 1600 block of Broder Street.

It was there that the sexual assault took place, police said. The woman lost consciousness during the attack, and when she came to, she was lying on the ground alone.

Eichler, 33, has been charged with aggravated sexual assault and overcoming resistance by attempting to choke. He is scheduled to make his first court appearance on the new charges Friday morning.

Eichler also faces two previous charges of first-degree murder in the 2013 deaths of 23-year-old Richele Lee Bear and 21-year-old Kelly Nicole Goforth.
