RCMP are asking the public to be on the lookout for an accused sex offender who may be in Saskatchewan or Manitoba.

Vincent Alex Desjarlais of Kylemore, Sask. faces several charges, including sexual assault, sexual interference, assault and procuring miscarriage.

Desjarlais, 49, was charged in June after a health care worker told RCMP in Wadena, Sask. that a girl under the age of 16 had been sexually assaulted.

Mounties believe Desjarlais is actively trying to evade police in either Saskatchewan or Manitoba. He has ties in Regina, Saskatoon and Punnichy, Sask., as well as the Yellow Quill First Nation in Saskatchewan and the Long Plain First Nation in Manitoba.

Desjarlais is described as Aboriginal, five-foot-ten and 176 pounds with a medium build, black hair (possibly in a ponytail) and brown eyes.

He has several tattoos, including a circle with feathers on his right arm, an eagle head and flower with a red centre on his left arm, daggers into a circle on his left forearm. His right forearm bears various tattoos, including a heart and “F*** You” in writing. He also has a small, red star with a black outline on his neck, and a First Nations man with long hair, an eagle and feathers on his right shoulder.

Anyone with information on Desjarlais' whereabouts is asked to contact RCMP, their local police service or Crime Stoppers.
