A 40-year-old man charged in connection with Regina’s fourth homicide of the year made his first court appearance Monday morning.

Rueben Pelletier is charged with second-degree murder in the death of a 50-year-old man.

Police say the victim, who was seriously assaulted early Thursday morning, died of life-threatening injuries in hospital the next day.

The victim’s name hasn’t been released.

Pelletier's next court appearance is scheduled for July 29.
