A 24-year-old Kipling man faces attempted murder charges after two people were stabbed in the southeastern Saskatchewan community.

RCMP say a 52-year-old man and a 44-year-old woman suffered stab wounds in an altercation at a home in the 800 block of First Street on Saturday night.

Both victims were taken to hospital in Regina. The extent of their injuries isn’t known.

Mounties say the accused and the two victims were at a gathering at another home in the town earlier that night. It's alleged that a fight broke out when the 24-year-old man entered the woman's home, where the two victims had gone after leaving the gathering together.

Gregory Tyler Bluecloud of Kipling faces five charges, including two counts each of attempted murder and aggravated assault.

Bluecloud made his first court appearance Monday in Mellville.
