The number of babies born in Saskatchewan has hit a 22-year high.

The latest numbers show there were 15,035 births in the province last year, up from 14,577 in 2011.

Emma was the most popular name for girls for a fourth straight year, followed by Olivia and Ava.

Liam was the top boy’s name for a third consecutive year, followed by Ethan and Carter.

This information is compiled annually by Information Services Corp., which administers the province's vital statistics registry.
