A 14-year-old boy is facing charges after an incident at a Regina high school on Wednesday.

Around 11 a.m., police received information that a student had made remarks about bringing a gun to school.

Police investigated and searched the student and his home, as well as school property. It was determined that the boy did not have access to firearms and had no intention of acting on his comments.

The boy, who cannot be named under provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, has been charged with conveying false messages and mischief.

He was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in youth court on Nov. 18.
