Ten university students from Brazil arrived in Regina today to begin a semester of studying at the University of Regina.

The students are taking part in the “Science Without Borders” initiative, a program that invites more than 12,000 Brazilian students to study in Canada.

The students who arrived today are the first of 54 students from Brazil who will be studying at the U of R this semester.

Most of the students are specializing in engineering or science.

The students were greeted by a mild winter day, U of R study abroad advisor Martha Mathurn, and a gift package full of Canadian.

When the semester wraps up in April, the students will be returning to Brazil to resume their studies or receive their degrees.
