A fatal car crash closed southbound lanes of traffic six kilometers south of Lumsden Sunday morning.

Regina RCMP have now confirmed that three vehicles were involved. The first car struck and killed a horse that was loose on the highway. Then, a second car hit the horse. The 69-year-old man driving the second car pulled over to the shoulder and got out of his car to inpect the damage. That's when he was struck and killed by a third car.

Jared Mitchell Mowbay, 24,  was driving the third car. He faces numerous charges, including impaired driving.
