RCMP say eight animals were put down after being struck by two vehicles in separate accidents.
The accidents happened on Highway 11 one kilometer north of Aylesbury Sunday evening about 930pm. In one accident, a north bound SUV struck cattle that were on the highway. The second incident involved a south bound vehicle and cattle on the roadway. RCMP say eight cattle had to “ disposed of on site.” Local farmers assisted with handling the animals.
The north and south lanes of Highway 11 were closed for two hours while the scene was cleared.
