Moose Jaw police say charges have been upgraded to attempted murder after two men were seriously injured in a fight last week.

Officers were called to the 100 block of Duffield Street West after receiving a report about a group of men fighting. When they arrived, two men had already suffered serious injuries.

Police say a 33-year-old man, who suffered a knife wound to the head, remains in the intensive care unit at Regina General Hospital. A 31-year-old man, who also sustained severe head injuries, was treated at the Moose Jaw hospital.

David Gamble, 22, and 20-year-old Nicholas Gamble were initially charged with aggravated assault, but police say the charges have now been upgraded to attempted murder.

Both men remain in custody pending their next court appearance Thursday.
