An extreme cold warning has been issued for a number of regions in Saskatchewan, including Regina, Saskatoon, Estevan, Weyburn, Yorkton, and other areas.

Environment Canada says temperatures could drop to -30 degrees Celsius, or colder. With the wind chill, it could feel like -40.

Temperatures are expected to moderate slightly on Saturday, but extreme wind chills could develop again on Saturday night.

Extreme cold warnings are issued when temperatures or wind chills are low enough to increase the risk of frost bite or hypothermia.
