Saskatchewan crops are well ahead of normal for this time of year.

The latest crop report released Thursday said most crops in Saskatchewan are in good to excellent condition. Ninety-nine per cent of fall cereals, 96 per cent of pulse crops, 95 per cent of spring cereals and 94 per cent of oilseeds are at or ahead of their expected development for this time of year.

Rain and wind caused problems with weed control in some areas of the province. Small areas are also dealing with flooding. According to the latest report, less than two per cent of the pasture is flooded.

Precipitation levels varied last week across Saskatchewan. Some regions had trace amounts of precipitation, while others had heavy rainfall, accumulating up to 80 mm.

According to the report, producers are shifting from spraying for diseases and weeds and are now starting to cut hay.
