The Saskatchewan government says this month’s sale of oil and natural gas rights has raised $14 million in revenue for the province.

That brings the total for this fiscal year to $48 million with one sale remaining. The final tally for the previous fiscal year was $43 million.

One exploration licence and two leases west of Estevan received bonus bids totaling $7.6 million for 1,554 acres in Tuesday’s sale. Stomp Energy was the successful bidder.

The next sale of oil and gas rights will be held on Feb. 7.
