A 35-year-old man from Regina is facing charges after the Trans-Canada Highway was closed Friday evening near Broadview, Sask.

The highway reopened around 6:00 p.m. after a driver who RCMP say was not cooperating with police was arrested during a traffic stop.

Mounties stopped a vehicle on Highway 1, about eight kilometres west of the town, Friday evening.

“The occupant of the vehicle is not cooperating with police,” RCMP said in a news release.“For public safety reasons the highway has been closed in both directions.”
