A woman is dead after a crash in north Regina early Tuesday morning.

Around 1:30 a.m., officers spotted a car speeding in the area of Albert Street and 1 Ave. N. Police attempted to stop the car, but the driver took off.

Shortly after, police received two calls reporting the driver for driving erratically.

Around 1:40 a.m., police were called to the 2100 block of 9 Ave. N. after a report of a single vehicle accident. Investigators say that the car that police had attempted to stop earlier was travelling eastbound, when the driver lost control and hit a tree.
