Eight people are facing charges after police in Regina busted an alleged counterfeit money ring.

Police seized counterfeiting equipment and fake U.S. money after executing a search warrant Monday at a home in the 800 block of King Street.

Officers also found several weapons – including a crossbow, throwing knives and two stun guns – and a small amount of methamphetamine.

After a lengthy investigation by the Regina Police Service Commercial Crime and RCMP Economic Crime units, police arrested three people.

Jason Alvin Ursulan, 36, and Melissa Ann Heather Patterson, 26, have each been charged with counterfeiting- and weapon-related offences, while Shelsey Raelyn Hansinger, 27, faces one count of possession of methamphetamine.

Five other people were earlier charged in connection with the investigation. Alyssa Venessa Graves, 28, Dustin Sinikewicz, 26, and Justin Wayne Crowe are each charged with uttering counterfeit American money, while Michael Joseph Vogel, 36, and Richard Austin Nelson, 37, both face one count each of production of counterfeit American and Canadian money.
