Environment Canada has confirmed a tornado touched down near Davidson, Sask. Tuesday night.

The tornado struck at approximately 8:15 p.m. between the communities of Davidson and Loreburn, and was on the ground for at least three minutes.

Environment Canada did not issue an actual tornado warning for the region until 8:20 p.m.

Local resident Sheri Warkentin witnessed the touchdown, and says while no one was injured, the twister destroyed a neighbour’s barn.

Several trees were also knocked down in the community.

The overall storm system hammered the Outlook and Rosetown areas as well, with torrential rain, lightning strikes, and baseball sized hail reported.
