The annual immunization campaign kicked off Tuesday in Regina with a familiar face.

Saskatchewan Roughriders legend George Reed helped launch the first phase of flu shot clinics.

Officials say the focus is on protecting anyone with chronic conditions, the elderly and children, as well as those who may be in direct contact with those groups. However, anyone else who wants to get vaccinated can do so at no cost.

The clinics will run for the next three weeks in Regina. More information is available on the Regina Qu’Appelle Health Region website.
