Saskatchewan authorities have helped track down a man who is now facing sex- and child pornography-related charges.

Police say 30-year-old William James Stewart had been living in Prince Albert, but later moved to Edmonton.

The Saskatchewan Internet Child Exploitation Unit assisted authorities in Alberta with the two-month online investigation.

Stewart faces a total of eight charges, including three counts of conspiracy to commit sexual assault and three counts of conspiracy to commit sexual interference, as well as making and possessing child pornography.

He was remanded into custody and is scheduled to make his next court appearance May 28.
