Mounties from across Saskatchewan will pay their respects to one of their own later this week.
Const. Derek Pineo died early Friday morning after his police cruiser collided with a moose near Wilkie.
He had been with the force for nearly five years, and had just transferred to the Wilkie RCMP detachment in the last couple months.
A regimental funeral will be held Wednesday in Nipawin, where the 38-year-old officer had previously been stationed. The service at the Evergreen Centre is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m.
