A GoFundMe page has been started for the 16-year-old boy involved in a collision northwest of Weyburn Friday night.

Tyler Schepens was injured in the two-vehicle crash on Highway 39. A truck with a lone occupant collided with Tyler’s car, which carried Tyler and one of his friends.

Stars ambulance airlifted Tyler to Regina, where he remains in hospital. The other occupant of the car suffered minor injuries.

The teen's mother, Jennifer Schepens, said Tyler broke his femur in four places, and broke his ankle, which cracked that bone half way up his shin.

“He’s going to have a long haul with physiotherapy,” said Schepens. “He will be okay. That’s what’s important.”

Friends have started a GoFundMe page to help the family during this time.

“We've already received so much love and support from family and friends. Just so much support and prayers. The prayers are, I think, what's getting us through,” said Schepens.
