Environment Canada says a Pacific front will continue to bring heavy snow to Saskatchewan on Friday.

As of 10 a.m., 13 or more centimetres of snow had accumulated from Saskatoon through Lloydminster, while most other areas received five to 10 centimetres.

Another 10 to 15 centimetres of snow is expected Friday in areas north of the Trans-Canada Highway.

Winds gusting up to 50 kilometres an hour will cause blowing snow and reduced visibility at times, the agency said.

Snowfall warnings were in effect across much of central Saskatchewan and southeastern parts of the province, including Saskatoon and Regina.

The snow is expected to taper off in most areas overnight Friday or Saturday morning as an Arctic ridge of high pressure brings colder and drier air.
