The Trans-Canada Highway has reopened but many other roads were still closed Friday after a spring storm swept through Saskatchewan.

Semi-trailers were lined up for several kilometres before traffic started moving again on Highway 1 west of Regina on Friday morning.

Many semi drivers had been sitting in their rigs for hours in the Superstore parking lot in east Regina while they waited for the highway to reopen.

Several other highways were still closed around Regina, Moose Jaw, Swift Current, Kindersley, Saskatoon and North Battleford, and travel was not recommended on numerous roads.

A few centimetres of snow fell overnight and another two to four centimetres is expected Friday.
