Emergency responders are on scene of a collision involving multiple vehicles on the Trans-Canada Highway west of Regina.

Few details were immediately available, but Moose Jaw EMS tweeted that 10 vehicles were involved in the crash Tuesday afternoon on Highway 1 near Pense.

RCMP are asking the public to avoid the area and drivers are being told to expect delays.

Mounties say weather conditions have made highway travel dangerous in many parts of the province.

According to Saskatchewan's Highway Hotline, the Trans-Canada Highway is closed from Regina to Belle Plaine. Highway 10 is also closed from Fort Qu'Appelle to Balgonie. A stretch of Highway 1 that was closed between Regina and Balgonie has since reopened.
