Jack Semple has a little extra to be thankful for this thanksgiving. The local musician was recently awarded a Diamond Jubilee Medal.

Recognized for his success in the music industry, Semple was awarded for his sacrifice, passion, and courage in the art’s scene.

Semple started his career in Regina, but later moved to Toronto. When it came time to raise his family, Semple stayed true to his roots and returned to the queen city.

“Part of the great thing about living in Saskatchewan is that I can make a living as a musician, make my own music, and i can earn a living doing it,” Semple said. “It’s a great opportunity and Saskatchewan is a great place to live for that reason.”

Semple was one of 41 outstanding Saskatchewan citizens who received the medal on Sept. 25.
