A man is facing charges after a business in north Regina was robbed at gunpoint over the weekend.

Just before 3 a.m. Sunday, police were called to a report of an armed robbery at the business, located in the 400 block of Albert Street North.

Police say a man armed with a gun entered the business and demanded cash and merchandise from an employee, who wasn’t hurt in the incident.

Officers located a suspect in the area and a foot pursuit ensued. The suspect ignored officer commands to stop, and at one point, pulled out what appeared to be a gun, police said.

The suspect was taken into custody a short time later. Police say he was in possession of a realistic-looking CO2 pistol.

Shawn Royal Parisian, 24, of no fixed address is charged with armed robbery and weapon-related offences. Parisian is also charged with theft of a motor vehicle in connection with an earlier, unrelated incident. He made his first court appearance Monday morning.
