Kenneth Patrick Morrison, 27, is expected in court Tuesday afternoon, accused of stealing a vehicle, and a number of hit and run crashes on Monday.

Police responded to the first crash around 8:46 a.m. after a grey sedan hit a tree on Cardinal Crescent Monday morning. The driver allegedly drove away from the scene despite significant damage to the car.

Soon after, police responded to another collision between two vehicles in the 2800 block of Thorton Avenue. The suspect reportedly fled the scene on foot.

Around 9:30 a.m. a white van belonging to a cleaning company was stolen from a house in the 3000 block of L’Arche Crescent. The van had a series of hoses attached to the house, which left a trail of water as the vehicle drove away.

Police tried to locate the van, as it drove erratically around south Regina. During this time, police received more reports of a white van colliding with, or nearly colliding with vehicles and a pedestrian.

After another near-collision, with a semi, police deployed a spike belt in east Regina, and the van finally slowed down, but continued and struck a fence and a residential water line on Braun Bay. The suspect was then taken into custody.

Morrison is charged with theft of motor vehicle, possession of stolen property over $5,000, failure to stop at scene of accident, along with other charges.
