A man is dead after the pickup truck he was driving rolled into a slough in southwestern Saskatchewan.

The crash happened near Highway 615 in the Fort Walsh area, southwest of Maple Creek, late Thursday night.

RCMP say it appears a pickup truck went through a barricade on the side of a low bridge before ending up on its roof in a slough.

The driver and lone occupant of the truck, a 61-year-old man from the Consul, Sask. area, was pronounced dead at the scene. His name hasn’t been released.
