A man is facing an impaired driving charge following a collision on the Ring Road in east Regina.

Police say a black pickup truck travelling southbound on Ring Road left the roadway just before the Dewdney Avenue overpass shortly after 10:30 p.m. Sunday.

The truck drove down between the bridges and hit the roadway on the westbound lanes of Dewdney Avenue before colliding into a wall and a pedestrian walkway along the eastbound lanes. It was then involved in a collision with a blue pickup that was travelling eastbound on Dewdney Avenue.

The driver of the black pickup, a 28-year-old man, was taken to hospital with undetermined injuries. Police say he will be charged with impaired driving. The man, whose name has not been released, remains in hospital and is scheduled to appear in court Feb. 13.

The driver and passenger of the other truck were checked by EMS and released at the scene.
