A man is recovering in hospital from smoke inhalation, following an early morning house fire in the 1400 block of Athol Street.
Firefighters were called to the home at approximately 5:20 a.m. on Sunday.
Crews arrived to find the sole occupant of the house outdoors, on the porch area.
The man was transported to hospital, and the two dogs and three cats who were also inside the home are now under the care of the Regina Humane Society, until their owner recovers.
The fire appears to have started in the kitchen area, before spreading to the walls and attic space.
