A Regina man has pleaded not guilty to second-degree murder in the death of a two-year-old girl.
The emotional mother of Natalia Shingoose swore at Adam Cyr and shouted “baby killer” as she left the courtroom Wednesday.
Outside the courthouse, Amanda Trevors told reporters she was “enraged.” She declined further comment.
Family and supporters wore hooded sweatshirts that read “Natalia Marie Dawn Shingoose deserves justice.”
The little girl was found dead at a home in the 600 block of Garnet Street on June 21.
If a judge determines there's enough evidence to hold a trial, Cyr has elected to be tried by a Court of Queen’s Bench judge and jury.
The case was adjourned until Sept. 21, when a date is expected to be set for a bail hearing.
