A Regina investment advisor has been named this year’s CTV Regina Citizen of the Year.

Mark Stefan is dedicated volunteer, who has committed hundreds of hours to bettering his community in areas such as sports, arts, culture and education.

His sense of responsibility also extends to the global village. He and his daughter, Nicole, travelled to El Salvador earlier this year to help build a home with Habitat for Humanity.

Stefan is a member of the Regina Rotary Club and the Mackenzie Art Gallery Board of Trustees.

He also served as vice-president of the Grey Cup Planning Committee, and was involved in organizing the 2009 World Junior Hockey Championships.

In addition, Stefan mentors business administration students at his alma mater, the University of Regina.
