The Saskatchewan government has proclaimed April 30 to May 6 as Missing Persons Week across the province.

Justice Minister and Attorney General Gordon Wyant joined members of the Provincial Partnership Committee on Missing Persons at an annual ceremony Monday.

This year’s theme is “Because You’re Not Here.” There are 125 long-term missing persons in the province, according to the Saskatchewan Association of Chiefs of Police database.

Missing Persons Week aims to increase public awareness and bring new information that could help solve missing-person cases.
