The Regina hockey player who helped win the Stanley Cup brought it to Regina Tuesday.

Chris Kunitz, of the Pittsburgh Penguins was at City Square Plaza from 3:30-5:30 p.m.

He was welcomed home to the Queen City by Mayor Fougere.

Kunitz has won the cup three times and has brought it to Regina every time. He says will also cherish the moment he had when his grandma saw it.

“My grandma is not doing the best anymore. She’s moved a few times to different locations so we got to take the cup over to her… all the memories I have of her and to watch her drink some water out of the cup today is something that I don’t think I’ll ever forget,” said Kunitz

Autographed special edition photos of Kunitz and the Stanley Cup were available for a minimum donation of five dollars. All funds raised went towards the Allen Blair Cancer Centre.

Regina Downtown Business Improvement District invited everyone to bring their cameras to have a photo taken with the Stanley Cup.
