Demonstrators protest impending STC shutdown

Demonstrators gathered at a Regina bus depot Tuesday to protest the provincial government's dismantling of the Saskatchewan Transportation Company.

The rally, organized by the Saskatchewan Federation of Labour and other groups, is part of a week of planned demonstrations.

The government is hiring consultants to help it with the process of shutting down STC. The closure, which was announced in last week’s provincial budget, will result in 224 people losing their jobs.
