A body that was found in the Moose Jaw River is that of a missing 43-year-old man, police confirmed Tuesday.

Police say the body, which was pulled from the river near the Manitoba Street Expressway on Monday, has been identified as that of Timothy Lockard.

Lockard was reported missing last Friday and police found his body while searching the banks of the river as part of an investigation into his disappearance.

Authorities are continuing to investigate and are working with the coroner's office to determine the cause and circumstances of the death.
