An 80-year-old man walking on Highway 11 through Craik, Sask. was struck and killed by a passing pick-up truck late Thursday night.

Emergency crews were called to the collision at 11:15 p.m. The pedestrian’s truck had broken down and he was walking south on the highway when he was hit by the southbound truck.

He died at the scene. No occupants in the truck were injured.

The highway was restricted to one lane for several hours following the collision.

RCMP are still investigating the incident.

The man’s name is being withheld as police notify next of kin.

Craik is located 118 kilometres northwest of Regina.
