Saskatchewan had the highest rate of firearm-related violent crime among the provinces in 2012.

Statistics Canada says there were 34.3 gun-related violent offences per 100,000 people in Saskatchewan.

Manitoba had the second highest rate of firearm-related violent crime with 31.6 offences per 100,000 people.

Despite recording the highest rates of firearm-related violent crime, the rate of handgun-related offences in both Saskatchewan and Manitoba was below the national average.
