A Saskatchewan man has been charged with sexually assaulting a young girl.

RCMP say 58-year-old Noel Pelly of the Fishing Lake First Nation faces one count of sexual assault.

The charge stems from an alleged incident on Sept. 8.

Details on the relationship between the young girl and the accused aren’t being released to protect the child’s identity, Mounties said.

Pelly is scheduled to appear in provincial court Sept. 25 in Wynyard.
