Seven people have been charged after a drug trafficking and public safety investigation in Regina and Saskatoon.

According to the Regina Police Service, three people were arrested after a traffic stop in Saskatoon on Wednesday. Police say they seized a large amount of Canadian currency and criminal charges have been laid.

After the traffic stop, police executed five search warrants in homes in Regina. Six people were arrested, and three men have been charged under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

On Friday, another man was arrested at a residence in Regina.

Police say they collected cocaine, marijuana, a firearm, ammunition, Canadian currency and items used for drug trafficking.

A total of seven people have been charged. Police say they will release more information at a later date.
