Temperature records fell in several communities across southern Saskatchewan as the mercury rose above 20C on Monday.

Environment Canada says temperatures in Regina hit a high of around 24C, surpassing the record of 22.2C set back in 1938.

Meanwhile, it was the hottest Oct. 20 in four decades in Moose Jaw, where the previous record of 21.7C was broken by a couple degrees.

Estevan reached a high of 23C, edging out the record of 21.7C from 1973. More recent records were also shattered in Swift Current, Weyburn and Yorkton.
