A collision near Melville Friday night left one person in hospital with serious injuries.

Melville RCMP were dispatched to the scene of a three vehicle collision approximately 4 kilometers north east of Melville on Highway 10. When RCMP arrived, a 29-year-old male from Kelliher had been ejected from a vehicle. He was taken to hospital with serious injuries but has since been released.

A 49-year-old woman from Yorkton was trapped in one of the vehicles and was extracted by Melville Fire and was also taken to hospital where she’s still being treated for her injuries. Two other men were taken to hospital in Yorkton, one has since been released.

RCMP say the initial accident was a head on collision between two vehicles, the third involved in the crash was unable to avoid them.

The cause of the collision is still under investigation.
