A family of six was taken to hospital after a pickup truck crashed into their camper trailer while they slept inside early Friday morning in Swift Current.

Police and emergency crews responded to the crash in the 1800 block of 22nd Avenue Northeast shortly after 2:30 a.m.

RCMP say a pickup truck drove over a median, then entered the parking lot of a business and collided into a camper trailer.

A family of six – two adults and four children, ranging in age from three to 10 – were sleeping inside the trailer at the time.

All six were taken to a nearby hospital, where they were treated for their injuries and released.

Mounties say road and weather conditions were good at the time, and alcohol is considered a factor in the collision.
