The Saskatchewan Roughriders have signed receiver Weston Dressler to a four-year contract extension.

Dressler, 29, re-signed with the Riders as a free agent in August after attending training camp with the NFL's Kansas City Chiefs.

He's been one of the most prolific players on Saskatchewan's offence, surpassing 1,000 receiving yards in five of his seven seasons with the team.

Dressler recorded 469 receptions, 6,856 yards and 44 receiving touchdowns in 107 career regular season games with the Green and White.

In addition to winning a Grey Cup with the Riders in 2013, Dressler was named a West Division all-star four times and a CFL all-star twice.

Dressler was eligible to become a free agent on Feb. 10.
