A one-year-old girl is safe after an SUV she was in was stolen from 13th Avenue in Regina, and her mother is thanking the public for their help in finding her.

The girl’s mother says she was inside the Groovy Mama store on the 3200 block of 13 Ave. around 11:35 a.m. when the SUV was stolen.

The vehicle was found abandoned in the area of Regency Crescent around 12:30 p.m. with the baby inside.

Police say the vehicle was found after an anonymous 911 call from a payphone.

The girl did not suffer any injuries.

Police are still searching for a suspect.
