A man is facing charges, including assault and forcible confinement, after an incident at a home in Moose Jaw.

Shortly after 10 a.m. Tuesday, police received a 911 call from a woman, who reported that another occupant of the house was destroying property inside the home and threatening to harm himself.

Police say the woman sustained minor injuries after she escaped the house and was followed by the man, who then assaulted her outside.

The man attempted to flee in a vehicle that did not belong to him, but was stopped by witnesses, police said.

He then returned to the house and barricaded himself inside the bathroom. Police say when officers arrived, they went inside the house and negotiated with the man until he exited the home peacefully.

Eric Meyer, 28, of Moose Jaw faces charges, including assault causing bodily harm, assault, and forcible confinement.
