These are nice and zippy! Feel free to increase the amount of Sriracha in the burger meat. If you can’t find Sriracha, feel free to substitute your own favourite hot sauce, such as Frank’s. If you want the sauce spicier, add some cayenne rather than more Sririacha, which will make the mayo too runny.
Makes 6-8 burgers
½ cup old fashioned rolled oats
1/3 cup Sririacha sauce or other hot sauce
2 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
1 heaping tbsp Dijon mustard
1 tsp each garlic powder and onion powder
Mix the above ingredients in a large bowl.
1 kg ground beef
Mix well and form into 6-8 large burger patties. Salt just one side of the patties and grill over hot coals to desired doneness.
Toast 8 burger buns. Then top with the grilled patty. Slather over the sriracha mayo and any other desired burger toppings, such as white onion slices and lettuce.
1/3 cup mayonnaise
¼ cup plain unsweetened yogurt
2 tbsp Sriracha sauce
¼ tsp each garlic powder and onion powder
¼ tsp smoked paprika
1 tsp Dijon mustard
2 tbsp chopped cilantro leaves, optional
Mix all ingredients together in a bowl. Refrigerate until ready to use.
