One person is dead after a fiery collision between a truck and a moose in northern Saskatchewan.

Emergency crews responded to the crash on Highway 55, about 35 kilometres north of Big River, early Tuesday morning.

RCMP say it appears the truck collided with the moose, then rolled into the ditch and caught fire.

A passerby found the driver dead inside the vehicle. No name has been released.

An autopsy is scheduled for later this week.
