Swift Current RCMP are on the scene of a fatal crash approximately one and a half kilometers west of Swift Current on Highway 1.
Few details are available at this time, but in a press release RCMP said a car and tractor trailer unit collided. It’s not known what direction the vehicles were traveling. One person is confirmed dead, and there is no word on any other injuries.
The west-bound lanes of Highway 1 are closed and traffic is being re-routed around the crash scene. RCMP said the highway is expected to be closed for several hours while they investigate. A collision analyst is on the scene.
RCMP said they will provide an update once they highway has been re-opened.
