Overcrowding at one Regina hospital has reached a new high for this year.
A hospital official says numbers just released confirm that Regina General Hospital reached 132 per cent capacity last week.
Val Hunko, a health region vice-president, says the figure resulted from a combination of patients from surgeries and a higher number than usual of other people being admitted.
At one point, some patients were being cared for in hallways, but Hunko says that has eased and the General is down to 122 per cent capacity.
She says the hospital is trying to balance the number of people coming through the doors with those who need beds after surgery.
Earlier this year, another hospital in Regina, the Pasqua, hit crisis levels when it was 134 per cent over capacity.
